MDT innovations at Light + Building 2026

From 8 to 13 March 2026, you can find us in Frankfurt at Light + Building, the world's leading trade fair for building automation. At our stand in the middle of Hall 11.1, we will be showcasing our latest innovations and even a sneak preview or two from our development department. This time, our trade fair stand will be themed ‘Rennovate.Innovate.Elevate’.

Innovate
MDT is launching more than 300 new products at Light + Building – and these innovations span the entire product portfolio: for example, there are new actuators which, in addition to their KNX Secure feature, also offer new functions such as the ‘Virtual Interface’, which can be used for testing in the ETS, eliminating the need to go to the control cabinet. In addition to new versions of the Glass Touch Smart in 2 and 4 inches, MDT is also introducing the new VisuControl Plus Panel, once again more than living up to its role as an innovator in the KNX market with these new products. Innovation made in Germany.
Touch Display VisuControl Plus
Your powerful visualisation tool – the VisuControl Plus touch panel with high-resolution 8-inch glass display enables intuitive visualisation and control of building functions such as lighting, shading, climate and scenes. With integrated SIP function, IP camera connection, logic functions and remote access, it offers comprehensive smart building functionality.
Glas Touch Smart 6
‘As individual as you are’ – can be mounted horizontally or vertically, and the 6-inch display can be customised via ETS. A surrounding white orientation light rounds off the modern design of the Glass Touch Smart. Equipped with up to 64 functions, up to 12 status displays can be visualised on individual levels. The button is equipped with a temperature sensor and a room temperature controller for heating and cooling operation.
Glas Touch Smart Plus 6
The Glas Touch Smart Plus version of the multifunction button has additional functions. Users can access the RGBW colour palette and customise the colour of the surrounding backlighting. An integrated loudspeaker provides the user with acoustic feedback, for example when a button is pressed.
Glas Touch Smart 4 - Preview
The button with a high-resolution 4-inch display can be customised just like its big brother and can display up to 32 functions.

The 2.4-inch display fits into 55 mm switch ranges, can be customised and can display up to 16 functions.

We are bringing many new products to Frankfurt from our in-house development and production facility in Engelskirchen (near Cologne). We have summarised all our new products for you in our new products brochure. Take a look now:
Micro presence detector 360°
In addition to the sensor for presence detection, the passive infrared detector is equipped with a temperature and brightness sensor. It covers an area with a diameter of 7 metres, and does so with an incredibly small lens that makes it virtually invisible in the installation.
Micro motion detector
The virtually invisible motion detector is ideal for passageways. With its special detection angle and a range of 5 metres, it registers movement and, thanks to additional integrated sensors, also detects temperature and brightness.
motion detector 2,2m TS
The presence detector has two sensors, one for brightness and one for temperature. The trigger sensitivity can be adjusted separately for day, night and presence, and with a range of 11 metres, the motion detector covers a large area.
KNX Secure:
MDT offers all components for a complete KNX Secure project!

- Compatibility and interoperability with non-secure devices
Over 200 MDT KNX Secure products are already available. Of course, all new MDT products are equipped with KNX Secure from the start of sales. MDT will be adding Secure to many more existing MDT products in the coming months, and many of these products will also be equipped with additional functions.

Elevate
With the acquisition of the Tense brand, MDT 2024 has already taken the step into the high-quality push-button range. At Light + Building, visitors will be able to experience the high-quality surfaces up close, including new wood and stone finishes. In addition to technical upgrades and redesigns for the Intensity, Velocity, Serenity and Motivity product lines, the Tense portfolio will be expanded to include the Eternity product family. Eternity is the new touch display family in the high-end design of the Tense brand. The Eternity 8 is a stylish VisuControl with an elegant real material frame that enables the control, visualisation and monitoring of functions such as heating, shading and lighting. In addition, door communication and IP cameras can be integrated via this new display.
Eternity 8
Elegance arises when no detail is left to chance. Thus, the Eternity 8, with its elegant genuine metal frame, blends seamlessly into the world of TENSE design and lends a coherent, high-quality look to the entire building. Behind its purist design lies a powerful, high-end control centre for home automation. The bright display allows you to control all the functions in your home: lighting and shading, climate control and energy management.
Eternity 6
With Eternity, modern technology becomes a design statement. The high-resolution 6-inch colour TFT display (1440 x 720 pixels) shows all your home's functions at a glance, stylishly framed in high-quality authentic material. Whether mounted horizontally or vertically, Eternity blends seamlessly into any interior like an elegant piece of jewellery.
Eternity 4 - Preview
The Eternity 4 features an elegant design with its glass surface and high-quality frame made from authentic materials. All room functions can be conveniently controlled via the high-resolution display. A background image can be used to reflect the individual style of the room.

Intensity - New Design
The Intensity series stands for modern design in perfect elegance and blends harmoniously into any interior. Each Intensity push button is a handmade unique piece and is manufactured with the utmost care from fine genuine materials – for a special feeling of quality with every touch. Perfectly thought out: each button has a discreet LED that provides visual feedback when pressed. Whether lighting, shading, heating or more – with the Intensity buttons, you can control all the functions in your home stylishly and intuitively.
Intensity - New materials
The use of stone and wood makes each Intensity piece unique. No two surfaces are alike, as each tells its own story that has developed over time. In our stone buttons, rare quartz veins break through the dark surface as accents, making them real eye-catchers. In wood, it is the lively, unique grain, shaped by the age and growth of the tree, that gives each button its individual character. This makes every button a genuine piece of natural history.

Like Intensity, Serenity stands for premium materials, high design standards and a clear design language. The difference lies in the details: instead of touch surfaces, mechanical buttons are used here – deliberately minimalist in design and pleasantly precise to operate.

Velocity impresses with high-quality materials, strong design and pleasant linearity. The difference to Intensity lies in its dynamic design. It is operated using slim, mechanical pins, which give the switch a unique, architectural look.

Renovate
MDT is expanding its KNX RF+ portfolio, offering new possibilities for renovators and tenants. The new window handles and radiator thermostats already available provide greater comfort and security – and can be integrated wirelessly into the KNX system. The innovative deep sleep mode ensures exceptionally long battery life.
MDT is launching something completely new with homeXpert: it now offers a professional solution for easy entry into the world of smart homes. At the heart of the system is the homeXpert server, which acts as a control centre for the RF+ products. The server can be easily configured using the appropriate MDT app and the MDT configuration tool, which is available on the Internet. No ETS knowledge is required to get started. If desired, the project can be upgraded to a classic KNX system at a later date, for example when moving into your own home. KNX stands for an open, manufacturer-independent system, which is very important to MDT. This means that products from other manufacturers can also be integrated via a ‘Works With homeXpert’ licence.

MDT homeXpert
With MDT homeXpert®, you can easily transform your customer's existing building or rented flat into an energy-efficient smart home thanks to wireless radio connectivity. The 7 x 7 cm server is the new centrepiece of MDT's entry-level KNX RF+ system. Project settings can be configured using the MDT homeXpert tools without any ETS knowledge. Offer your customers a smart home now – it has never been easier!

RF+ window handle
With their classic, elegant look in white or stainless steel, the new window handles fit into any interior design. The handles reliably transmit the window status (closed/open/tilted) to the KNX system. The integrated vibration alarm also offers added security.
RF+ radiator thermostats
The new RF+ radiator thermostat is available in three versions – with classic AA batteries or with a lithium battery, with or without a display. All models benefit from the innovative, energy-saving DeepSleep mode, which achieves extremely long battery life.
RF+ push button Light 55 Basic
The Light 55 Basic push button is a neutral KNX RF+ wireless push button, suitable for 55 mm switch ranges from various manufacturers. The vertically arranged buttons can be set as a pair of buttons (two surfaces) or as individual buttons. In addition to switching, dimming, blinds, scenes or sending values, there are numerous functions to choose from.
RF+ Wireless LED Controller CC/CV
The MDT LED Controller CC/CV 30/60 W are compact LED controllers with integrated power supply for constant current (CC) and constant voltage (CV). Two channels for connecting LED spots with a total output of 30 W. The operating modes ‘2x White’ or ‘1x Tunable White’ are possible.
RF+ Radio push-button interface/push-button interface
The push-button interface is installed behind a conventional light switch, turning the normal light switch into a smart switch.

The window contact is attached to the window frame and detects whether the window is closed, open or tilted.
